These are nice sounding modules out of the box but are fairly utility sounding modules and so are generally not a "Go to" for a lot of applications but sound good for the money with a nice EQ section.

Our goal on this one, as with most of our modification is to really squeeze the performance out of it so that it IS a preamp you reach for.

The preamps themselves use a lot of TL072 opamps which don't have the best fidelity, headroom or noise floor and leave a lot of audio wanting.

About the Modification

On these preamps we do a nice input stage modification using de-coupling and coupling techniques as well as High performance Burr Brown opamps thru-out the signal path for the best possible headroom and lowest noise floor possible.
 
Interstage coupling modifications are performed as well as output stage mods for optimum performance thru the entire signal path. 

The Equalization section is further modified in both the amplification stages as well as coupling stages to smooth out boosting and cutting for absolute clarity and musicality when shaping your audio.

When it’s all said and done we have a preamp that sounds a lot more musical with the usual Revive Audio improvements in Headroom, lower noise floor, a lot better bandwidth. 

Cumulatively it sound excellent with a lot more Audio Mojo and overall musicality and moves this little humble preamp up to a level where professional studios will reach for it on any number of sources.
