Symetrix 525 Modification Mail in Service

Note: Due to the variations in design of the 525, some units have a Valley Green VCA and others a DBX. 

In Valley versions we do not offer a VCA upgrade due to the unique character and its coveted nature but if your unit has the DBX VCA we do for an additional $70. 

In order to determine which version you have, you will need to remove the top. If you see a Blue or Green Can, you have a Valley VCA. 

We normally do not modify or replace the Valley VCA's in these units as they have an excellent character that a lot of users prefer. 

In units with the DBX VCA we offer an excellent upgrade with an "A" weighted VCA that offers very smooth compression with much lower distortion as well as better clarirty and low end. 

For the rest of the circuit in either case we offer an excellent modification Service. 

The service increases the headroom of the unit, widens the sonic's and increases the detail and depth of field.

It also lowers overall noise in the unit while making it larger and fuller.

Here is what the service includes:
1) Burr Brown input, buffer and output stage modifications for maximum circuit fidelity (gives the unit a more full detailed three dimensional sound with increased frequency response).
2) Power supply modifications including voltage adjustments, noise reduction and  re-cap (lowers noise, re-rejuvenates and helps increase the current supply. It also gives the unit a fuller sound).
3) cleaning of all electro-mechanical switches and potentiometers.
4) Input and output audio coupling modifications.
